Route ordering and the Mapbox token

Routes orders each technician's day by actual driving distance once you add a Mapbox token; without one, stops just show in scheduled-time order.

Jobs › Routes

Routes lays out each technician's stops for a chosen day. What it can show depends on one setting: whether your business has a Mapbox token connected.

With a Mapbox token

Job addresses are geocoded automatically as they load. Once a technician has two or more geocoded stops on the day, those stops are ordered with a nearest-neighbor distance route: a real, distance-based ordering, though not a mathematically optimal one for every possible route. Any stop with no address or a failed geocode falls back to scheduled-time order and is shown after the distance-ordered stops.

Without a Mapbox token

Connect a Mapbox token

  1. Open Settings and choose the Measurement Tool tab.
  2. Add your Mapbox access token there.
  3. Return to Jobs, Routes. Distance-based ordering starts working once at least one technician has two or more geocoded stops for the day.

It is the same token used for the property measurement tool on estimates, so connecting it once covers both.
