Job statuses and the job lifecycle

The five statuses a job moves through, what changes each one, and where to make that change from the job page.

Every job has exactly one of five statuses. They move forward in one order; the only way out of that order is Cancel, which is available at any point before the job is completed.

StatusMeaning
PendingCreated but not ready to work: usually because no one is assigned yet.
ScheduledAssigned to a technician and confirmed for its date and time.
In ProgressThe crew has started work on site.
CompletedWork is finished. The job page shifts to billing and payment.
CancelledThe job will not be done. Its record and history stay available.

The four tabs on a job

  • Work: the job's checklist and required work steps.
  • Documentation: photos, field notes and the service checklist for the record.
  • Financials: pricing, invoicing and payment once work is complete.
  • Activity: the job's history and time tracking.
