The customer portal is a separate, self-service area for your customers, not part of your own dashboard. A customer signs up with their own email and password and sees only their own history.
Signing up and signing in
A customer can create their own account from the portal's sign-up form with their full name, email, password, and optional phone and address. Signing in checks that the account is a customer login; a business-owner or employee account cannot sign in there.
What's inside the portal
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Active Bookings, Pending Quotes and Approved Estimates counts, with sub-tabs to browse My Bookings, Quotes and Estimates, and a Book Again button back to your booking page. |
| History | Past bookings only — completed and cancelled — with a Book Again action on completed ones. |
| Messages | Every conversation any business has started with this customer, in one inbox, with live chat. |
| Settings | Full name and phone (editable), email (read-only) and a change-password form. |
The portal's sidebar becomes a slide-out drawer on a phone, opened from the menu icon next to the page title.
Inviting a customer to the portal
From a customer's detail page, open the Chat & access tab and use Email invitation. It sends an email containing both a secure chat link and a link to the customer sign-in page; the customer creates their portal account themselves using the email the invitation went to. A customer can also just go to the sign-up form on their own and register with the same email you have on file for them — no invitation is required.
Portal login vs. customer record
A customer record in your Customers list is created the moment someone books or requests a quote — it does not require them to ever create a portal login. The portal is an optional extra for customers who want to track things themselves.
